The 2018 Conference of the International Society of Ocular Infection and Inflammation - June 7-9, 2018 - Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina Hotel
Offering the best and latest information on inflammation and infection—from the front of the eye to the back—the 2018 Conference of the International Society of Ocular Infection and Inflammation (ISOII) will convene June 7-9, 2018, at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina hotel.
ISOII founders, Terrence P. O’Brien, MD, of Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, and William R. Freeman, MD, of the Shiley Eye Institute, are organizing the conference agenda along clinical topic lines—such as drug delivery, nanotechnology, and new frontiers in biologics—rather than strictly by anatomy or individual disease state. Their aim is to stimulate discussion among a wide variety of subspecialists, allowing experts in different ocular diseases and structures to share insights with one another.
The conference will feature innovative formats, such as a 3-D surgery symposium, and offer presentations by thought leaders from within and outside of ophthalmology, including fields such as microbiology, epidemiology, allergy, and rheumatology. See the preliminary agenda here.
Importantly, this conference will be just one of many ongoing activities from the ISOII. Between conferences, the ISOII will work to encourage ongoing dialog and fellowship among members and our peers.
Drs. O’Brien and Freeman have selected Candeo Clinical Science Communications, LLC, [http://www.candeoscience.com/] a subsidiary of Ethis, Inc., [http://ethisinc.com/] as their partners for the society. Candeo brings years of experience in ophthalmic medical education and communications, and Ethis was the team behind the landmark journal The Ocular Surface.
